Well we’re having our good and not so good days with Boo sitting on the potty. He came home last Thursday (after his first day in his new day care classroom — Pre-school 1) and was SOOOO happy that he sat and peed on the potty, twice!! Since then he refuses to sit on his potty at home or even the real toilet. I did however convince him to come watch me “make bubbles” in the toilet this evening! He even got to flush which made him happy!
But for some reason Boo will NOT sit on the potty for us or even his old teachers at day care. He knows what to do, he knows when he wet or dirtied his diaper, and he actually knows WHEN he is going but just won’t take the time to sit on the potty.
I found this article that will hopefully give us some insight and then we’ll hit the library maybe one night this week after school!

Ok I think my wife is at her wits end with putting our son to bed at night. Whenever I try to take him up to bed he starts to climb the stairs and then quickly asks for Mommy. I think we have to begin to work on that issue as well! Breaking the routine of just Mommy putting him to bed and then allowing me to help out a few nights a week would do wonders for the sanity of our household!
I found this good source of articles on Helium.com, they have a pretty good section on Parenting and different sub-categories. Here is the link to the article.

This seems to be a good suggestion on how to combat the screaming match between our son and us. Basically the post is saying that the child is desiring to have control, oh yes, I have figured that part out with Boo. But after reading this article I’m going to give this a try and see what happens. Can’t hurt!

It’s healthy for toddlers to be afraid of strangers, dogs, noisy environments, and separation from parents or care providers. Common fears of 3-year-olds also include masks, old people, darkness, parents going out at night, and animals. Every child, beginning in infancy, has fearful responses to some things; that is part of normal development and keeps kids a little wary (a good thing) in threatening situations.
