The Daddy’s Toolbox Carnival #2

Posted by Toolbox Dad on June 15, 2008

Welcome to the June 16, 2008 Father’s Day Edition of The Daddy’s Toolbox Carnival #2.

Father’s Day

McMommy presents You can thank me later. posted at The McMommy Chronicles, saying, “I don’t know why all the dads want a Wii this Father’s Day. Obviously they haven’t seen my post yet about these little catalog goodies….”.   McMommy has a Wii and I’ve been asking her all about it and how I can convince my wife to allow me to get one! She lists out some non-traditional Father’s Day gift items.  I like the duck shirt!

Other

Kevin Heath presents 25 Top Children’s Charities posted at More4kids. This is a great collection of charities such as March of Dimes, St Jude’s, Toys for Tots, Make-A-Wish and many others.

Parenting

David B. Bohl presents Protecting Your Kids in a World of Internet Predators posted at Slow Down Fast Today!, saying, “We’ve warned our kids about Internet predators, but is that enough?”

Alvaro Fernandez presents Cognitive and Emotional Development Through Play posted at SharpBrains, saying, “We sometimes neglect to mention a very basic yet powerful method of cognitive and emotional development, for children and adults alike: Play. Dr. David Elkind, author of The Power of Play: Learning That Comes Naturally, discusses the need to build a more “playful culture”.”

Posted by Toolbox Dad on June 3, 2008

This week’s Manival is being hosted by Tyler on Building Camelot and was started by Brett from The Art Of Manliness.

The Manival is a blog carnival for men to post stories about anything manly! I myself posted one of my blog posts about losing some of the PSW, or pregnancy sympathy weight.

Please go over to Building Camelot and read this week’s The Manival!

The Daddy’s Toolbox Carnival | First Edition

Posted by Toolbox Dad on May 24, 2008

Welcome to the May 26, 2008 edition of Daddy’s Toolbox Carnival. This is my first experience at running such a carnival and I’m going through the learning curve right now. As this is just getting started, I will be running this carnival on a monthly schedule and anyone that would like to host a week please let me know. If you would like to participate in next edition of Daddy’s Toolbox Carnival, please submit a post using this handy submission form.

So for my first carnival here are the posts that I found relevant to my “daddy” topic:

Editors Choice: Kevin Heath presents Tips For Helping Our Kids Grow Up Green posted at More4kids. Kevin’s post on green tips for kids is great. My wife and I are always looking for more green tips. He goes into how children learn from adults and that we should be conscious about turning off lights and recycling, among many other ideas!

Michael M. presents Daddio’s Daily Dose: Stretch Armstrong Returns! posted at Daddio’s Daily Dose. Haha, who remembers Stretch!? I always tried to pull his arms off to see what was inside!

Michael M. presents Daddio’s Daily Dose: You Can Say That Again! posted at Daddio’s Daily Dose.

Michael M. presents Daddio’s Daily Dose: Rat’s Were Two, EEE! posted at Daddio’s Daily Dose.

Hsidea presents Building friendships through homeschool groups posted at Homeschooling Tips, saying, “Tips for building friendships for homeschooled children”

Raymond presents Explaining Why Financially Independent Men Rarely Call Their Mothers posted at Money Blue Book.

That concludes this edition. Submit your blog article to the next edition of daddys toolbox carnival using our carnival submission form. Past posts and future hosts can be found on our blog carnival index page.
